How To Style An Oversized Blazer

Outfit details: HOUNDSTOOTH BLAZER, SKATER SKIRT, EXPRESS LACE TEE, BRIVEE BOUTIQUE DOUBLE LAYER NECKLACE, WHITE ESPADRILLES, HEART BELT

Wearing a blazer is a great alternative to wearing a regular jacket. Not only does it give you a more dressed up look, it gives you the appearance of style and success. It’s the statement piece of an outfit, like this one paired with a simple skater skirt and V-neck tee.

Although oversized blazers are not for everyone, if you’re petite you also don’t want it to appear that it’s swallowing you. Pair it with a mini skirt the length of the jacket for a dressy and proportioned look, along with a waist defining belt on the actual outfit. You can also wear a belt over the blazer to define the whole look as a blazer/dress type look.

For a statement sleeve (or if the sleeves are too long) fold them twice for a quarter sleeve length. The inside lining color will give a statement to match the rest of the outfit.

Don’t forget jewelry! Jewelry and accessories can make a huge difference (as the belt did) – so I wore the layered necklace by Brivee Boutique for a pop of elegance. (And remember you can get 15% off using code ‘MICALA‘!)

We had a fun day in San Francisco on the Red and White Fleet Cruise which looped around the Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, and Alcatraz island. We also ate lunch at the Crab House and walked around the Pier! This was a great outfit to wear for the warm weather but with a blazer for the SF breeze.

There’s so many other ways to style a blazer. What are your favorite ways?
