How To Make Puff Sleeves Look Elegant but Casual

Outfit Details: Black Mesh Puff Sleeve Dress, Cami Romper, Rhinestone Choker, Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette, White Converse

Oh, puff sleeves. One of my favorite styles. They are just so feminine, elegant, and adorable! Unfortunately, many people have trouble styling puff sleeves because they don’t want to look ridiculous. But fortunately, that’s why I’m here to help with that!

Puff sleeve pieces can be dressed up or down, and because of that versatility it’s already a good choice! If you have narrow shoulders, they are great for the appearance of a more broad shoulder to be proportional with your body shape. If you already have broad shoulders and really want to wear puff sleeves, just make sure your bottom half is proportionate with the sleeves, like a flowy/A-line bottom half (AKA no skinny jeans!)

This sheer mesh dress is flowy, so it creates a proportional appearance with the sleeves and dress flow. I was loving this look! I paired the sheer dress with a matching black cami romper underneath and wore Converse to dress it down a bit.

I’m loving the rhinestone necklace and gold chain for the LV Mini Pochette bag – it gives the black dress some elegance and glam without being over the top.

To dress up puff sleeves (like this dress), I would definitely add more rhinestone jewelry and even a glam hair clip for a more elegant look. And of course some black pumps would give this a whole different look.

I dressed this outfit down by wearing Converse, and you can also dress it down even more. A black felt choker instead of the rhinestones, and a bag without a chain would definitely make it more casual.

Accessories can really glam up an outfit, so that’s all you need to keep in mind when styling puff sleeves! Jewelry, Shoes, and Purse is what determines how you are trying to portray your look!
